Kirk Hammett is the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the heavy metal band, [[Metallica]]. He is also given credit for founding the band "Exodus." He was hired as the new lead guitarist after Dave Mustaine was kicked out of [[Metallica]] and founded Megadeth in 1983.
