James Vernon Taylor (born March 12, 1948) is an American actor and singer-songwriter, best known for his songs "Fire and Rain" and "You've Got a Friend". He voiced himself in the season 5 episode "Deep Space Homer", singing for astronauts (including Homer Simpson) on a space shuttle mission.

James Taylor was voted 21st in IGN's "Top 25 Simpsons Guest Appearances".
