The honorable Avril Ward (pronouned A-vril, rhymes with April) is the American ambassador to Australia in "Bart vs. Australia". He was voiced by Harry Shearer. After Bart makes a $900 collect call to Australia, the Australian government becomes infuriated at Bart. Bart and the rest of the Simpsons are brought to Australia and they stay at the embassy and are introduced to Ward. Bart apologizes to the Australian parliament, but he and Homer escape when the Aussies want to kick him with a giant boot. The family is pursued by a large crowd and run for the embassy. Ward notices their approach and declares that he doesn't want them. He tries to shut the gate, but it malfunctions. Eventually the Aussies agreed that Andy would only kick Bart once with a regular shoe through the embassy gate. Bart reluctantly agreed, but in the end jumped out of range of the kick and proceeded to moon the audience.
