Season 1[edit]

Bart the Genius[edit]

ACT ONE[edit]

The Simpsons are playing a board game, and the family gets agitated at Marge, who is trying to think of a word. Marge places "He", and Homer places "Do". Lisa places the word "Id" on the board, Homer responding "No abbreviations". Lisa then looks it up in the dictionary (placed under the short leg of the couch) and says the meaning. Bart places "Kwyji", with Homer telling Bart to say the meaning. Bart says "It's kind of big, dumb, balding, North American ape, with no chin and a lousy job". Homer then chases Bart, knocking the table over in the process. At school, Bart is defacing the outside wall with a spray can, surrounded by Lewis, Milhouse and Richard. Martin Prince tells Principal Skinner, and Skinner walks over to where the defaced property is just in time for Bart to retain his place against the wall after chucking the spray can in the bin. Skinner tells the boys to show their hands, with Bart's being the one which is covered in red spray paint. Skinner tells Bart that he wants him in his office after school. Bart gulps, while the remaining kids "Oooh!"

In class, Martin tells Bart that he told Skinner about him spray painting to fend off the desecration of the school building. Bart says "Eat my shorts!" Mrs. Krabappel gives out test sheets to the class, with Martin pointing out that Bart has to face the window. Everyone starts their test, with Bart whispering the question to himself. The teacher tells Bart to visualize it, and he does, however the visualization turns into a horrible daydream. Martin tells Mrs. Krabappel that Bart is not bothering him, and asks her if he can read under a tree outside. Outside, Martin sticks his tongue out at Bart, turning into an ugly-face duel. Mrs. Krabappel looks out the window for the dogs, and while Martin returns to reading, Bart erases "Martin Prince" from the top of Martin's paper, and writes "Bart Simpson". Bart puts 'his' paper back on the desk, and on his paper, Bart erases "Bart Simpson", puts "Martin Prince", and marks all the wrong answers.

Later in the afternoon, Homer and Marge are on their way into school. Entering the office, Homer shouts "What have you done this time, boy?". Skinner tells Homer what Bart did that morning, and makes Homer write out a cheque for $75 dollars to sandblast the wall. Skinner points out Bart's unruly behaviour, and before Skinner can make some decision, Dr. Pryor is sent in. Skinner introduces him as the district psychiatrist, and Dr. Pryor tells Homer and Marge that their son is a genius. Dr. Pryor gives Homer Bart's IQ, which he mistakes for 912, where it is really 216. Dr. Pryor asks Bart some questions, and in a quick discussion with Skinner, they decide to move Bart to another school. Bart tells Dr. Pryor to sign him up, with Homer asking how Bart became a genius. Dr. Pryor tells Homer lots of solutions, including the fact that it is sometime a total mystery. Dr. Pryor then has a meeting with Martin and his parents in his office, giving bad news to his family.
