The image needs the background (as it is the safety space). As it is stated on the website When using the bird with other logos and graphic elements, maintain a safety space that equals 200% the size of the square around the bird.
When I uploaded the new logo, I made sure I followed the 200% space. Please revert to the version as of 07:52, December 24, 2014
