Movie Information
|
Showgirls is a film about the backstage drama of topless showgirls in Las Vegas.
History[edit]
Marge took Homer to the Aztec Theater to see it. Homer enjoyed the movie and told Marge that her taking him to see it was the greatest gift any wife had ever given her husband. Marge replied, "I thought you'd like it. And I'm enjoying the friendship between showgirl and that seamstress." They were quickly shushed by the other movie-goers.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Showgirls is a real-life flop released in 1995. It was considered controversial due to its subject matter and poorly received by both audiences and critics for its over-acting, awful dialogue, nonsensical plot, and the dictionary definition of the male gaze.
Showgirls does have a subplot of Nomi befriending Molly, a seamstress and costume designer at the Stardust Hotel and Casino.
