The Simpson Family Circus is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #85.

Synopsis

The Simpson family's TV ratings are measured and the television companies discover something strange about the family.

Plot

In the story, Gil cancels the family TV subscription to cable, which causes Homer to strangle him and Bart to kick his shins. A new "better" TV is given to them, however, with a remote that "needs five fingers to operate" according to Homer. They only have to watch their shows, with the company monitoring the selection. Gil then reveals that after one week, they will come back and "rip everything out and move on to the next 'Guinea Pig's house". After watching a variety of shows, they are seen as idols. It is revealed that they watch everything, and the story ends.
