Production code: MG33
Writer: Matt Groening

Punching Bag is the fourth short in season 3 of the shorts.

Synopsis

The Simpsons make a punching bag with Homer's face on it. After Homer yells at Lisa, Bart, and Maggie for playing rough, Lisa tells Bart he is punching too weakly, and draws an image of Homer on the punching bag. Homer complains to Marge about the sound of the punching bag, and Marge punches it harder than Bart and Lisa. Homer storms in angry at Bart, Lisa, Maggie, and Marge. After Lisa refuses to let go of the punching bag, the punching bag hits Homer and hits him several times.

Trivia

  • In 2004 a World of Springfield playset was released featuring the Tracey Ullman Simpsons as action figures and the punching bag was an accessory included with the set.
  • This is the first usage of Homer Simpson's famous catchphrase "D'oh!".
