BBC Two is a British public service broadcaster owned by BBC, which broadcast The Simpsons from November 1996 until May 2004. It broadcast the first 248 episodes of the show, minus "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson".
In June 2000, the channel aired two documentaries as part of a "Simpsons Night": The Simpsons: America's First Family, about the origins of the show, and My Wasted Life, an insight into Matt Groening and how he came to create The Simpsons.
In 2002, the costs of purchasing new episodes rose too high, and the BBC were disinclined to pay for further episodes. The rights were handed over to Channel 4 that year.
The first episode to air on BBC2 was "There's No Disgrace Like Home", on November 24, 1996; the last episode to air on the channel being "Behind the Laughter", on May 7, 2004 at 6pm, gathering 1.69 million viewers.
