Trivia

  • Busy Bart: Bart is seen or envisioned doing the following things at the beach, mostly prank-related:

    • Bringing along a fake shark fin, evidently for a practical joke. However, Marge catches him and the shark fin ends up being thrown away in a trash can.
    • Putting sand down the back of Homer's bathing suit while Homer is setting up the beach umbrella.
    • Investigating a hermit crab.
    • Making a face for the family photo at the beach (not actually done, but only envisioned by Homer).

Continuity

  • When the family leave the house, Bart is seen carrying a fake shark fin. After they get to the beach, however, the shark fin is seen in a trash can, with Bart looking wistfully back at the trash can and Marge giving Bart a dirty look.
    • Bart previously played a shark fin prank during a family vacation at Sandy Beach, seen in a flashback scene in the television episode "Itchy & Scratchy Land".
    • Marge considered the Sandy Beach incident to be one of the most embarrassing family vacations ever, so it's very likely that she made Bart get rid of the fake shark fin in order to avoid a repeat performance.
