Company Information

The Springfield Birthday Merchants Association is an association dedicated to promote the children's birthday parties business.

History

Tired of attending very expensive and luxurious children's birthday parties, Homer started sabotaging them in order to bring back "normal" parties. After he did that, the Springfield Birthday Merchants Association visited the Simpsons house and came down on Homer, explaining to him that in those days the children's parties business was even more important than the car manufacturing and steel industries. The association forced Homer to chose between throwing a party for the next birthday that came up in the town or forget about Bart and Lisa's birthdays forever. Homer chose the first option, throwing Rod Flanders a party at the Springfield Museum of Flight.

Behind the Laughter

The helicopter flying by means of balloons is a reference to Disney Pixar's movie Up.
