The first attempt to publish the Simpsons comic in Brazil was in 1996 by Sisal Editoria publishing company, in partnership with the Grupo Editorial Vid, of Mexico. The first and second were spelt Simpson Comics instead of Simpsons Comics. It contained a bonus feature of an Interview with Matt Groening. The stories was O Descomunal E Colossal Homer, in which Homer turns to a giant, and O Colecionador, where Homer is alone with only his comic book collection.
