Spinal Tap is a fictional parody band consisting of David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), and Derek Smalls (Simpsons regular Harry Shearer). They made their mark as the stars of the hit mockumentary This is Spinal Tap. McKean, Guest and Shearer reprised their roles in the season 3 episode "The Otto Show".

Spinal Tap were voted 18th in IGN's "Top 25 Simpsons Guest Appearances".
