She was from The Old Country which appears to be Northern England or Scotland.
 
Strangely, she looks exactly like Marge except her hair goes down like Marge's highschool student self, she also wairs old fashioned clothes like Orville.

Yuma Hickman, or Great Grandma Simpson is Homers's grandmother from "The Old Country", which appears to be Northern England or Scotland. Yuma married Orville Simpson in the early 1900's.
