Green Day is a popular American rock trio best known for their songs "American Idiot", "Basket Case", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Time of your Life" and "Holiday".
They guest starred in the opening scene of The Simpsons Movie. They were playing at a concert on a barge floating in Lake Springfield. Green Day was playing their own version of The Simpsons theme. When they were done, they were tired of playing so long so they began to talk about the environment. Everybody was upset and started throwing litter at them. Most of the litter missed them and polluted the lake, causing the barge to dissolve and sink, while they were playing (on violins)the song from movie Titanic, when the ship was sinking, killing them.
