Richard Appel was a writer for The Simpsons and still briefly contributes. His writing for The Simpsons debuted with the episode "Mother Simpsons". He finished his full-time writing career for The Simpsons with the episode "When You Dish Upon A Star". He was said to contribute to The Simpsons Movie but was declined.
