Kirk Hammett is the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the heavy metal band, Metallica. He is also given credit for founding the band "Exodus." He was hired as the new lead guitarist after Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica and founded Megadeth in 1983.
