Comic Story information
|
They Fixed Homer's Brain! is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #27.
Plot[edit]
Homer wrecks Lisa's saxophone while imitating a television show. After Marge orders him to buy a new one, he finds a wanted ad for a guinea pig in a scientific study which offers enough money for him to buy the sax.
The study is being conducted by Professor Frink who wants to test the effectiveness of a pill which is intended to make people smarter. After Homer takes the pill, he quickly develops an expanded knowledge in most areas including languages and physics. Lisa is excited about having a more intelligent father and joins him on a trip to the planetarium, while Bart is frustrated that he is now being excluded from Homer's activities.
Homer struggles to adapt to his new intelligence and grows impatient with others. Nevertheless, he plans to have surgery to make the effects of the pill permanent, as he feels that Lisa would be lonely otherwise. Immediately before the surgery, Lisa tells him not to go through with it because the rest of the family are unhappy with his new personality.
