The following is a style guide on how to create a high quality guest star page, and is part of our Manual of Style.
*Entitle the article with the person's name. If the person is better known by a stage name (e.g 50 Cent), use the stage name for the title.

*For the images using photos from their Wikipedia pages is generally fine. However, be sure to do the following:

Aims
**Verify that it's permissible to use the image on wiki projects in general or that the image is in the public domain. This will be the case        for most images on Wikipedia, but it's better to check than to assume.
+
This style guide aims to help you write articles on all The Simpsons guest stars.
**When you upload the image to Wikisimpsons, provide the appropriate licensing information. Including the URL for the image on Wikipedia would be helpful in case any questions arise about licensing issues.

*In the body of the article, provide biographical information. However, be reasonable. There's no need to replicate the entire content of someone's Wikipedia article or IMDB entry, for example.

*Including an Appearances section is fine, even if the guest star appeared in only one episode.

*Include an "External links" section with links to the person's Wikipedia article and IMDB entry. Other relevant links are also fine, such as the person's official website.

*At the bottom of the article, add the "Season N Guest Stars" template(s) for the season(s) in which the guest star appeared.

Style Guide: Guest stars
Style Guide Guest Stars.png

The following is a style guide on how to create a high quality guest star page, and is part of our Manual of Style.

Aims[edit]

This style guide aims to help you write articles on all The Simpsons guest stars.

Structure of an article[edit]

Pre-empting all else, if the guest star voiced themselves or has appeared on the show (i.e. they have a character page), Gstarnav should be placed at the top.

Infobox[edit]

All guest stars articles must have this infobox:

Information[edit]

Our guest star articles follow a strict format. The paragraph should start with their full name, followed by their birth date, and if necessary death date, in brackets. Then their nationality and profession is mentioned. Afterwards mention their appearances on the show, and end with any additional information, for example their brother also appeared on the show.

A good example can be seen below:

Alexander Rae "Alec" Baldwin III (born April 3, 1958) is an American actor. He voiced himself in the season 10 episode "When You Dish Upon a Star" and Caleb Thorn in the season 17 episode "The Bonfire of the Manatees". He is the ex-husband of Kim Basinger.

Navboxes and categories[edit]

Each season has its own guest star navbox and all relevant ones should be added. Use Season X Guest Stars, where "X" is the season.

Every guest star should have their nationality template, for example Category:American guest stars. Other categories that may be relevant are Category:Recurring guest stars and Category:Self-voicing guest stars

External links[edit]

All guest star member should have an IMDB page, linkable through link, where link is everything past "http:www.imdb.com/". Most have a Wikipedia pages, which is applied through Wikipedialink. Note that no extra info is needed provided Wikipedia's page share's the same title as ours. Other acceptable links include the person's website and their Twitter page.

Groups[edit]

 • If the main significance of their appearance on the show is as a group rather than as individuals, feel free to make character and guest star articles for the group rather than for each individual member.
 • Title the articles as <group name> for the real-life group, and <group name> (characters) for the group's character article. For example: Ramones and Ramones (characters).
 • For bands, use the "Band" infobox for both the character and guest star articles. For pictures, use real-life photos and episode screenshots as appropriate.

Other[edit]

 • Every guest stars's talk page should have Talkheader followed by Article Style Guide Guest Stars.
 • Make sure that the characters and guest stars are linked to appropriately.
