Movie Information
|
The Terminizor: An Erotic Thriller is a film written by Homer Simpson.
Plot[edit]
The film was about "a killer robot driving instructor who travels back in time for some reason. This robot, he's got a heartbreaking decision to make about whether his best friend lives ... or dies. His best friend's a talking pie!"
Production[edit]
The production of the movie started when Homer wrote the script and left it on Alec Baldwin's pillow for Baldwin to find. Baldwin found the script and talked to Homer about it, along with Ron Howard and Kim Basinger. Homer said it had a perfect part for either Alec or Kim, and eagerly described the plotline. Homer added that Ron Howard was attached to direct, and Ron protested that he wasn't. Homer then said that Ron had expressed an interest in directing, which Ron denied vehemently, and their conversation turned into an argument.
Alec Baldwin, meanwhile, read through the script while Homer and Ron Howard argued, then said that while most movie scripts were 120 pages long, Homer's was only 17, and "several of the pages [were] just drawings of the time machine". Homer, crestfallen, saw that Alec was unimpressed with the script, and said, "So you're saying you don't want to star in my movie." Alec apologized and gave the script back to Homer, which prompted him to petulantly say, "Well, if Alec is out, I'm out, too." Homer handed the script to Ron Howard, saying, "You're on your own, Potsie." Ron then quizzically and skeptically read the title out loud: "The Terminizor: An Erotic Thriller?"
Later, after Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger kicked Homer out of their house, Alec felt bad and said that maybe he should have made Homer's film, and Kim said that the script wasn't that bad and "might even work if you got rid of the talking pie". Alec told her that she was crazy as the film was a buddy picture and without the pie it would just be him on screen for two hours. Kim sarcastically answered that he would hate that. Ron Howard, interrupting the conversation, said the pie was the heart of the movie. Kim decided, grudgingly, that they could "keep the damn pie".
One month later, at the 20th Century Fox Film Studios, Ron Howard pitched one of his scripts to a film executive, who promptly turned it down. Ron then proposed the script that Homer wrote. The exec enthusiastically accepted it and gave Ron a large sum of money.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
The movie's title and storyline are an obvious reference to Terminator.
