Bart Simpson in Computer Hackles is a comic story that appears in Bart Simpson #14. The story was later reprinted in the Big Beefy Book of Bart Simpson and The Simpsons Annual 2011.
Synopsis
In the school's computer lab, Bart becomes bored with his research project and asks Martin to help him get to some cool websites.
Plot
Bart and several other students are in the computer room in Springfield Elementary School, working on research projects on South America. The other students are busy with their projects, but Bart looks bored and is sitting idly at his workstation, staring into space. Mrs. Krabappel excuses herself, telling the students to keep working and saying that she'll be back in a few minutes. Just as she exits the room, she steps back into the doorway, glares at Bart, and says, "And that goes for you, too, Bart!"
After Mrs. Krabappel leaves, Bart smacks the side of his monitor, complains that South America is boring, and laments, "How come I can't surf to any cool sites?" Martin, who is sitting next to Bart, says that the school's computers have parental locks, thus restricting access to certain websites. Bart is undeterred, however, and says to Martin, "I'll bet you could get me to ..." and whispers some website names to him. Martin replies that he could, but reminds Bart that the sites he mentioned are forbidden. Bart offers Martin his lunch, and Martin quickly agrees to the deal.
The other students gather around Martin's computer as he gets to work, tapping away on his keyboard. Martin says his computer skills are getting a serious workout, and Bart tells him, "Less talk, more workout!" After some more intense concentration and working at the keyboard, Martin cracks his knuckles in triumph and says, "We're in!" as he succeeds in getting onto one of Bart's desired sites. Bart congratulates him ("All right, Brainiac!"), but the other students turn away from the screen in disgust. Bart then sits at Martin's workstation, leans back in the chair and laughs as an animation from the Itchy & Scratchy Official Homepage appears on the screen.
