Sir Ian McKellen (born May 25, 1939) is a famous English actor.

McKellen's acting career spans over four decades, and he has worked in genres ranging from Shakespearean and modern theatre to popular fantasy and science fiction. In recent years, McKellen is best known for his portrayals of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy and Magneto in the X-Men film series.

On The Simpsons, McKellen appeared as himself in the episode "The Regina Monologues."
