When Abe drove the tank in the war he used it to run over {{Ch|Bob Hope}}, causing his golf club to get stuck under one of the treads. Several years later, Abe learned that he was owed over forty years worth of veterans tax benefit. A government official offered him either the amount he was owed or an object of his choice from a government warehouse. When Abe saw the tank he immediately recognized it and chose it over the money. Because Abe didn't have a license to drive it, he needed to be accompanied by [[Homer]] when it was used. Homer began using it for his own use, and would drive it to work. When [[Aristotle Amadopolis]] saw the tank parked outside the [[Springfield Nuclear Power Plant]], he thought that [[Mr. Burns]] had broken their weapons treaty and declared a nuclear war on Springfield, although the war fizzled out before any weapons were used.
