'''Doris Grau''' ([[October 12]] [[1924]] - [[December 30]] [[1995]]) was an [[United States|American]] actress, script supervisor and [[voice acting|voice actress]].

Like [[Selma Diamond]], Grau played gravel-voiced, [[chain-smoking]] women on TV shows like ''[[The Simpsons]]'' and ''[[The Critic]]''. She also had a few guest appearances on ''[[The Tracey Ullman Show]]''. She also provided additional voices on the movie ''[[Babe (film)|Babe]]'' ([[1995 in film|1995]]). As an actress, Grau appeared in ''[[The Distinguished Gentleman]]'' ([[1992 in film|1992]]). 

She is perhaps best known to younger people for her portrayal of [[Springfield Elementary School]] [[cafeteria]] worker [[Springfield Elementary School#Lunchlady Doris|Lunchlady Doris]], on the animated series ''[[The Simpsons]]'', as well as [[The Critic#Doris|Doris]] in ''[[The Critic]]''. She also had a recurring role as ''The Hungry Heifer'' waitress Corrinne on ''[[Cheers]]''. 

Following Grau's death from [[lung]] disease, the characters she voiced were 'retired' out of respect, with the exception of [[Lunchlady Doris]], who returned to ''[[The Simpsons]]'' after a decade-long absence in [[2006 in television|2006]] (voiced by [[Tress MacNeille]]).
