Ginsberg is a dog owned by Seth and Munchie. He lives with them at their farm, Groovy Grove Natural Farm.

History[edit]

It isn't known when or how Ginsberg came to live with Seth and Munchie. By the time Homer Simpson visited the farm, he had apparently been there for quite some time as they all got along well and Ginsberg had claimed Homer's old poncho as his favorite place to sleep. He also seemed to be reasonably happy, in spite of having skin and bladder problems.

Homer learned his middle name from a mural that his mom had painted on the farm and got teary-eyed, calling it a "magical gift" that she had left for him. Seth said that she had also left his (Homer's) old poncho and pulled it out from under Ginsberg, unceremoniously spilling him onto the ground and eliciting a complaining yip from him. Seth shook some fur out of the poncho and handed it to Homer, who quickly held it up to his face. Seth then said that he might want to wash the poncho because Ginsberg had skin and bladder problems, but Homer ignored him.

A few minutes later, Homer imagined what life as a hippie would be like and let most of the poncho trail onto the ground. When he returned from his daydream, he said he was going to be a hippie and love all of God's creatures. He then found that while he was daydreaming, Ginsberg had lain down on the poncho. Homer yelled, "Get off, you stupid dog!", knocked Ginsberg off of the poncho and put it on while Ginsberg growled at him.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

Ginsberg is named for the beat poet Allen Ginsberg.
