The character was heavily publicized in pre-release material and tweets from Matt Selman, a producer for the show. Several pictures showing stages of animation of DJ Keg Head were released. However, he only had a small cameo appearance and after the episode, the episode's showrunner Matt Selman tweeted "Finally, we meet DJ Keghead. He will never be seen again"
