Slash-Co Knives is a company which sells knives. It employs a door-to-door sales force which does in-home demonstrations of the company's products, which feature the Nev-R-Dull knife edge.

History

Homer worked briefly for Slash-Co Knives when he and Marge were first married and he was desperately looking for ways to support her. Homer made a sales call, introduced himself and the company to the lady of the house, and asked her to "Shake hands with the Slash-Co!" as he held out a knife to her. She grabbed the knife and screamed. Homer corrected himself, saying under his breath "Handle first, handle first" (implying that he had held out the blade to the lady and she had cut herself). He was fired later for unknown reasons.
