In Springfield, No One Can Hear You Scream is a Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror comic story first printed in Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror #7.

Synopsis[edit]

After watching scary cartoons, Bart has a nightmare about being attacked by aliens.

Plot[edit]

Bart watches an Itchy & Scratchy episode called Facehuggin' Frolics, which is a parody of the Alien movies. Marge chastises him for watching the cartoon because it frightens Maggie and is too violent for Bart. Bart ignores her, but she warns him that he'll scare himself due to the monsters, blood and gore in the cartoon.

Later that night, Bart hears a mysterious repetitive 'DA-DUM' noise from downstairs. Investigating the sound, he discovers an alien lair where his family and other Springfield residents have been captured and are being held in cocoons. The various Springfieldians then begin groaning in paim, shortly before alien chestbursters, each resembling their hosts, violently emerge from their bodies. Bart tries to escape the lair, only to be confronted by an Alien Queen resembling Monty Burns, and Bart is then cornered by a pack of aliens resembling his family.

Just as he is about to be attacked by a facehugger, he wakes up, revealing it to all be a nightmare. At breakfast, Marge asks if he learned his lesson and reassures him there are no real monsters; however, Maggie is briefly shown to have an Alien-style protruding inner jaw.
