On January 14, 2009, Fox started the Best. 20 Years. Ever. campaign to celebrate 20 years of The Simpsons around the world.

It culminated on January 14, 2010 with a special two hour celebration with a documentary made by Morgan Spurlock, The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – In 3-D! On Ice!, and the new episode "Once Upon a Time in Springfield". The Complete Twentieth Season was released to coincide with the event.
