The Lazy Hall of Fame image of Superman isn't him in his full costume, which is why the image is as it is. The current image is also the image used for all Appearances galleries, so is preferred as the main image over any other image. Please do not revert it again. - An image can be changed for all appearances pages so that's not much of reason. Also you have Clark Kent written out right above the image so it's the best way to show both dual identity of Superman and Clark Kent in just a single image. The other is more clean than the one where half of it is taken up with an unrelated Patty Hearst and fingers. Also the article isn't about Superman's costume and I'd buy more into it if it was a full shot of the costume, but only shows slight more the other.Snowball II (talk) 17:03, April 18, 2024 (EDT)
- Images shouldn't be changed for appearances pages for the most part though. We use the same images throughout the wiki for conformity and so you can tell at a glance when something has made an appearance. The only exceptions are when there's name differences for locations, or they're vastly different. This has been a thing on the wiki for years and it's not changing now. Having multiple different images for appearances confuses things and makes it harder to track appearances. And I disagree. The current image shows off more of his costume, and it's an image of him not between costume changes. Feel free to put the image elsewhere on the Superman article, but it shouldn't replace the main image. The Solar Dragon 17:15, April 18, 2024 (EDT)
- But that policy seems to be also based around the same image used on all the appearance section is making it easier to tell who or where or what it depicted which the other one does better. Also I meant just change to the better image on the appearance pages as well since "current image is also the image used for all Appearances galleries" isn't a rational for or against keeping it since that's as easily changed or not as any other edit. The image barely shows more of the costume and more muddled with unrelated stuff. I'm not trying to be a pill, but it's not a major or hard switch and within the bounds of the collaboration policy which is just we are all responsible for the edits.
