Lunchlady Doris works at Springfield Elementary as a cafeteria lady. She constantly prepares bad food, once using gym mats as a meat substitute, and other non-delectible items. This is most likely a critique of food served in public schools.
Pointed out by Superindentent Chalmers, Lucnhlady Doris also serves as the school's nurse most likely due to the school's low budget, as seen in 'Round Springfield.
She was vioced by Doris Gru, until' her death in 1997. She became a backround character for a long time. She had her first speaking role in many years in the Season 18 episode, Jazzy and the Pussycats, where she was vioced by Tress MacNeel.
