• The episode's title is a reference to Sex and the City.
• "Oogle Goggles" is a parody of Google Glass.
• In the documentary Will Lyman says that history's greatest monsters that never received a valentine are: Atilla the Hun, Mao Zedong, and himself Will Lyman.
• Bart was going to give Nelson a Guardians of Ga'Hoole valentine and says that it's a bad movie.

• This is the second time that Bart's penis is showing. The first time was in The Simpsons Movie.
• Mr. Burns mentions office supply theft and that happened in How I Wet Your Mother.
• Smithers says "The Doctor says to take you(Mr.Burns) in if you display kindness or warmth". Referencing the episode "The Fool Monty" which shows that kindness could kill Mr. Burns, while Evil makes him live longer.
