Futurama

Futurama is an animated science-fiction comedy show, that was also created by Matt Groening. Numerous references have been made to the show throughout the run of The Simpsons as well as Futurama making references to The Simpsons. Many people have compared the Futurama main characters with The Simpsons main characters such as Bender is Futurama's Homer.

A running joke is that on The Simpsons, Futurama is a fictional cartoon show on Futurama, however, it is The Simpsons that is a fictional cartoon show.

The episode's title is a reference to Futurama as well. Moe's clone was made out of Moe's back fat, just like how Cubert was made. 18 394 "Homerazzi" Sideshow Mel eats the American Flag just as Dr. Zoidberg did in "A Taste of Freedom". 19 411 "That '90s Show" Homer says that Matt Groening created Futurama at the time. 20 424 "Treehouse of Horror XIX" Bart, when looking for a present for Lisa, picks up a bottle of Somber String with a crude picture of Fry being hanged on the front of it. 21 445 "Treehouse of Horror XX" Hubert Wong, a reference to Hubert Farnsworth and Amy Wong, is seen. 22 481 "Love is a Many-Strangled Thing" The title screen gag does a parody of the Futurama opening sequence where the Planet Express ship flies across the screen while a small piece of music from the Futurama opening theme is played before The Simpsons theme takes over. 23 490 "Replaceable You" Bender appears on an issue of Popular Robotics. 491 "The Food Wife" Iron Cook is the name of a cooking show in the Futurama episode "The 30% Iron Chef". 495 "Holidays of Future Passed" The Ultranet is very similar to and may draw inspiration from Futurama's Internet. 504 "Beware My Cheating Bart" Fry and Leela are on a distant planet. The writing on the wall during the show Stranded is the alien language from Futurama. It translates to: "WATCH FUTURAMA THURSDAYS AT 10". The Simpsons Wrestling Leela and Bender are among the public in Kang and Kodos spaceship. The Simpsons Game Bender and Zoidberg appear as enemies in the level "Five Characters in Search of an Author". One of the achievements for the game is called "Back to the Futurama" with Bender as the picture. Comic Book Guy's Book of Pop Culture Comic Book Guy is shown to have a "Bender blender" in his kitchen. "Bite my shiny metal ass!" also appears as one of the quotes listed in "CBG's Greatest Quotes of All Time!" section. In "The Springfield Police Department's Evidence Locker!" section, one of the items seen is a TV playing cheap knock-off DVDs. The DVD playing is called "Future Guy" and shows Brian as Nibbler and Peter Griffin as Zoidberg. Bart Simpson #14 There is an advertisment featuring Fry on the back cover of the comic book Homer is reading. Everything's Bartchie! Barchie was then chased away from Memory Lane by Bender for he has looked too much into the future.
