He told Homer and Bart about "the curse of the little stores". He told them that the area used to have proper stores, but then rich people moved in and got little stores for their friends to wander in to.
He later mentioned that another family would open a store where Marge's store used to be, and when that happens, he would be ready. When he saw another couple check out the store, he laughed manically.
