During the episode "Lisa the Vegetarian", Paul McCartney (speaking as his character self) says, "If you play 'Maybe I'm Amazed' backwards, you'll hear a recipe for a really ripping lentil soup." The song is played during the episode's closing credits, and Paul's reading of the recipe can be heard if the sound is played backwards.

Lentil soup

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 2 sticks of celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup lentils
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp. feshly chopped parsley
  • Salt & freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 2 1/4 cup vegetable stock or water
