Detroit is a city located in Michigan and is best known for being the traditional center of the American automotive industry.

History

Homer Simpson learned that he had an elder half-brother named Herbert Powell, and that Herb lived in Detroit. When Homer contacted Herb via telephone, Herb invited Homer and his family to come visit him.

When the Simpsons arrived in Detroit, they learned that Herb was rich and owned his own car company, Powell Motors. During their visit, Herb invited Homer to design a new car, named The Homer. Unfortunately, the car proved to be unsellable, which resulted in Powell Motors going out of business.
