The crappy RV is a vehicle which was used and wrecked, and then sold to Bob's RV Round-Up, where they sold it for next to nothing.
History
It was the only RV that Homer could afford, so he took it. It was bad and always backfired, it was falling apart and smelled. Yet, Homer still bought it and the Simpsons went on their family vacation in it. Homer didn't use any maps, so he ended up driving the vehicle straight through Springfield National Forest and almost plunging it off Tenderfoot Gorge. The Simpsons escaped, but the RV fell down the gorge and exploded. It was a 1985 Ford Motorhome.
