History

In its issue of August 11, 1991, Forbes ran a cover story where it called The Homer "the blunder of the century". The cover picture showed Homer in the background, sitting blissfully in the car that he had designed, and Herb cringing in the foreground.

This negative publicity undoubtedly contributed to Powell Motors' going out of business.
