Plot
The Simpson family is getting ready for a day full of doctor visits, a boring day, but Bart points out to Lisa that they're going to be the stars of "Mom-and-Dad in-car bait-and-switch" video, where they tell kids they're going to a boring place, then they tell them on the car that they'll go to a fun place, a new trend on social media.
However when they get to destination they find out that they're not at Krustyland but at the Springfield Medical Plaza for a year worth of check-ups in one day. After the check-ups are complete, Bart and Lisa ask them to be taken for a treat and they go to the Boba Fete Tea Shop, where they buy some tea but Squeaky-voiced teen asks for tips on paying, which Homer reluctantly does.
The same thing happens at other shops and gets Homer exhausted, but cheers up when they go to the Springfield Pub & Brewery, where they charge a service fee and ask for a tip too. Homer clisk the pen and refuses to tip more than $1, but writes down "$1 OK!", and Sandee mistakes it for $10,000. But the family doesn't have $10,000 to pay for it so Homer destroys the bill, and other shop owners attack him, however its his imagination of what's going to happen, so instead he underlines the tip and they take him triumphally over their shoulders, with Marge groaning.
At home, Marge points out how the event went viral and that they're going to be in debt for the rest of their lives, so Homer goes back to the pub, but the popularity gets to him, as people stops him in the streets, and he overpays the newspaper with his news at the news stand and then goes on a tipping spree. Back at home however, Marge is waiting for him, very angry, considering she got all notifications of his spree. Homer promises her he'd stop, but at Moe's he does the same thing again, incited by Moe.
The situation gets worse and many past due bills get home. Homer watches hopeless as the family breaks down, and decides to visit Sandee at her home, however he tries to get in with her instead of asking for the bill to be cut, and Sandee sprays pepper spray in his eyes and slams the door instead of accepting him and he goes underwater, risking drowning, but is saved by Fausto at Little Europe. Homer is not answering Marge on the phone so Patty and Selma suggest her to take pictures for a dating profile on Tender.
From the stuff Homer is buying on Amazon, Bart figures out where he's and they go visit him, starting a song for the tip-free Little Europe. Lisa tells Homer that by coming back he can change Springfield with changes inspired by Little Europe. At the S.A.G. Awards, Homer presents the idea on living wage, Homer dreams of everyone accepting it, but in reality noone does and he ends up getting beaten up, this time for real. Marge then proposes Homer a way to fix both the money and tipping problems, as Homer starts working as a server.
