- Maggie's painting resembles several of the paintings in the Sunflowers series by Vincent van Gogh.
Trivia
- One little boy seems to be acting like Ralph Wiggum:
- He is first seen trying to eat the paper for his painting.
- He then drinks a container of orange paint.
- Instead of using his paintbrush for painting, he puts it into his mouth.
- His painting consists of making handprints on the paper, using the orange paint from his mouth.
- In the end, he gets sick and pukes up the paint he drank.
Continuity
- Maggie also shows her artistic skill at the beginning of the television episode "You Kent Always Say What You Want", when she and Marge play a Pictionary-like drawing game with Patty and Selma.
