Wiki discussion is the place where major discussions and decisions can be made. Larger discussions will have their own pages but smaller discussions will go here.

Foreign voice actors

So, we have many articles for foreign voice actors on the wiki. And there's some things I want to do about these.

1. Sources for their involvement. How do we know they voiced these characters? I want references showing that they do. No findable references or proof that they voice characters in the foreign dub, they get deleted.
2. Notability needs to be addressed. Voice actors who voice main cast regularly can be kept. But people who voice one or two characters in guest star roles shouldn't be on this wiki. e.g. Jan Skopeček. We're an English language wiki, we shouldn't have articles for every cast member of foreign dubs.

The category is Category:Foreign language cast members. Can everyone please help to identify references for each cast member's involvement, and if they're not notable enough, mark them for deletion? Thank you, The Solar Dragon 07:04, May 13, 2017 (EDT)

I also think that articles for people who just dubbed The Simpson movie are also not notable. They can just be listed under foreign voice actors on the character articles. The Solar Dragon 07:10, May 14, 2017 (EDT)

Do we really need pages for foreign voice actors and actresses? I mean, we already merged the foreign broadcasters. There are more than fifty foreign dubs of the show. Why should we list every voice actor from every foreign dub? This is an English-language wiki about The Simpsons. I say we should create a page titled something like "Foreign Dub Cast Members" and list names there for each foreign dub. That is a good point. I don't really see why we need them at all. They could just as easily be kept on the Non-English versions and be put into foreign dub boxes on character articles than have a full article for them. We don't need articles for every foreign cast member as we're an English wiki. The Solar Dragon 08:06, May 15, 2017 (EDT)

Linking policy

There are tons of episode/Quotes pages (see Category:Quotes) where linking differs from other pages:

• character names in front of lines are all links instead of first occurence
• no other links occur in the text

It should be first instance of a link gets linked, rather than every instance. If every instance has a link, they should be removed. The Solar Dragon 07:41, October 6, 2018 (EDT)

Yes I think so. I checked again a few random pages and I see that there are much less overlinked one I thought first. It is AleWi who has a different concept with links. I do not want to destroy his work unwisely. I left him a notice about this discussion. --2F13 (talk) 09:52, October 6, 2018 (EDT)
