Failure to do so will result in consequences.

Only notable articles should be made. What is notable is described below:

What is notable

  • Unnamed characters who play a decent part in an episode should have an article.

  • Named mentioned celebrities can have an article. If it is a reference to a celebrity, the reference should be explained. Else, the article could be deemed not notable.

  • Mentioned members of main or prominent recurring characters families can get articles.
  • Unnamed mentioned characters who have quite a bit of information revealed about them and are shown to have some relation to a recurring character could possibly have an article.
  • Characters voiced by guest stars should have an article, unless they are voice only, in which case it depends on how many lines they have had.
  • Unnamed, non-speaking characters do not get an article.

Locations

  • Named locations should have an article.
  • Unnamed locations visited by someone who is a focus of the episode should have an article.

Hit and Run

  • All unlockable vehicles, hidden vehicles and important vehicles get an article. All vehicles just seen around do not.

Songs

  • Songs sung by characters should get an article.

    • This includes 5 different references in the same episode.

  • If a movie or TV show references The Simpsons at least 5 times, it gets an article.

Others

  • Generic articles, i.e. something that is part of a wide range (Apples, Mouth Wash, etc.) do not get an article, unless there is a large emphasis on them in The Simpsons, i.e. Donuts and Pork chops.
  • Mentioned subjects that are not listed above should not get an article unless there is a fair amount of information given about them.

Crossovers

Rules that apply to crossover episodes. These rules apply to characters, locations etc. that are from the media that crossed over into The Simpsons.

Characters

  • Speaking characters get articles.
  • Characters who the camera focuses on get articles.
  • Background characters don't get articles, even if they're established characters in the other media.

Locations

  • Named locations get articles.

Media

  • Named media get articles.

Not notable

If you think an article is not notable, you can place the {{Delete}} template on the top of the article then bring the issue up on the deletion page. This will get viewed by others and then a verdict will be passed once there is enough discussion. A lot of articles may have to be handled on a case by case basis to deem whether it is notable or not.

If an article is obviously against the notability policy and you feel that it needs no discussion, list it here.
