Werner Herzog Stipetić (born September 5, 1942), better known as Werner Herzog is a German actor, film and opera director, producer, and screenwriter. He voiced Walter Hotenhoffer in the season 22 episode "The Scorpion's Tale" (including the German dub) and in the season 30 finale "Crystal Blue-Haired Persuasion", Dr. Lund in the season 31 episode "Screenless" and himself in the season 33 episode "Mother and Child Reunion".

Herzog originally thought that The Simpsons was a newspaper cartoon and was surprised when he was asked to voice a character for the show as a result.[1]
