  1. "When You Dish Upon a Star" - The time machine in Homer's movie script has a component which bears a strong resemblance to the flux capacitor in the DeLorean / time machine.
  2. "Friend with Benefit" - When the family left Jambowski Island, the movie was about to be shown in the island's swim-up movie theatre.

  7. "Lisa's Date with Density" - In addition to being a wordplay on the expression "date with destiny", the episode title is a reference to the scene in the first movie where George McFly attempts to ask Lorraine out on a date. George mixes up his words and says to her. "You're my density", when he means to say "destiny".
  8. Lisa Simpson's Guide to Geek Chic - The DeLorean appears as element De on Lisa's Table of Geeky Delights.

Occupation: Army surgeon
First appearance: "Brother from the Same Planet"

Hawkeye Pierce (given name Benjamin Franklin Pierce) is a surgeon on M*A*S*H.

History

Lisa got eardrops at Dr. Hibbert's office and had to wait 20 minutes for them to sink in. Hibbert offered her a M*A*S*H coloring book (with Hawkeye and his bunkmate B.J. Hunnicutt on the cover) in case she got bored. As he handed her the book, he glanced at the pictures and chuckled at one of them as he read the caption aloud: "Hawkeye's antics irritate the other surgeons."

Behind the Laughter

Hawkeye Pierce was the central protagonist of the M*A*S*H TV series and was one of the few characters to appear for the entire run of the show. His trademark was using humor to cope with the stress of front-line surgery. He was portrayed by Donald Sutherland in the film and Alan Alda in the TV series.
