Snooze Alarm! is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #207.
Synopsis
- "The entire town of Springfield is in for a restless, if not entertaining, evening of bad dreams and night terrors. Prepare to be carried away into a fitful slumber as Bart, Lisa, Mr. Burns, Krusty, Principal Skinner, and more drift off and discover that a dream state of mind can quickly turn into a nightmare, and that sometimes when you snooze you lose!"
Plot
Comic Book Guy discovers that he is in Springfield Elementary School in his pajamas, but because he thinks he's dreaming he thinks that he can fly and jump out throw the window, but instead he crash-lands. Bart is principal, and Martin comes and tells him that they cannot have school today because someone glued all the furniture on the ceiling. Bart decides they should have school anyway. Bart visits the school cafeteria, where he finds out that someone switched all the hamburger patties with whoopee cushions.
Bart tells Willie that he must set up security cameras to capture the prankster. Willie then tells him that they already have cameras. They check them and find that Lil' Homer is the culprit. Homer is rescued from Bart by his schoolmate, Lil' Skinner. The school continues to suffer from Skinner and Homer's pranks. Bart then gets an idea: he makes Skinner and Homer compete to see which of them is the best prankster. Bart wakes up in bed and it turns out to be a dream. Lisa is awakened by Bart but soon falls asleep again.
Mayor Quimby has a problem and contacts Lisa Simpson to fix the problems with the dogs, traffic and crime in Springfield. Lisa calls the Jazz Squad and tells Bleeding Gums Murphy to calm down the traffic with his saxophone. Thelonious Monk gets the city's dogs to be nice by letting them listen to his music. Lisa tries to get Fat Tony to stop his crimes by sending the dogs to attack him. but it doesn't work because the dogs are nice now, so she gets Billie Holiday to sing for him and make him cry, and Fat Tony gives up.
Mr. Burns begins to dream in black and white. He dreams that he is visiting Burns Factory Factory, where he sees that all the employees are lazy and sleeping in their workplaces, and dismisses all of them and begins to manage the machinery by himself but gets stuck in the gears. The employees try to save Burns but they fail. Burns wakes up and tells Waylon Smithers to dismiss some of the employees. Burns goes back to sleep and Smithers watches The Late Late Late Talk Show on TV. During the broadcast, Krusty falls asleep and dreams that all the clowns do not like his jokes anymore since they are always joking, so he changes his profile and start talking serious, and the viewers start laughing at that. The channel changes and Dream TV starts, where Cletus has become a billionaire businessman. Seymour Skinner has ended up in jail and tries to get Clancy Wiggum to release him, but he does not want to do it; instead, he falls asleep and dreams that he is a giant who eats the Ghostbusters. Skinner dreams that he is a sergeant trying to attack a beach with his army. Agnes Skinner shoots bombs but Seymour survives. It turns out to have been a test by Agnes, and Seymour has now earned her respect. Skinner starts to clean up after the war. Comic Book Guy dreams a new dream of the ultimate fight between a giant robot and a dragon.
