Melanie Upfoot is the former principal and teacher at Springfield Elementary School.

History

Women of Springfield harshly criticized Principal Skinner for saying that girls were bad at maths. Due to the escalation of women protests against him, Gary Chalmers replaced Seymour with Melanie Upfoot. Principal Upfoot ordered the school to be divided in two halfs, one for boys and one for girls. Upfoot was also the teacher of maths at the girls' side of the school. Her math classes, however, were based on building confidence instead of real learning, something that made Lisa want to join the boys' side of the school. When everyone found out that Lisa, a girl disguised as a boy, was the best maths student, Principal Upfoot was dismissed and Skinner recovered his position. She was also seen kissing Gary Chalmers.
