Walter Hotenhoffer, born as Augustus Gloop, is a German pharma industrialist and the owner of Hotenhoffer Pharmaceuticals. After Lisa discovered that the Springfield Silvertongue flower could make creatures and people docile, Grampa started using the drug made from it. However, Lisa didn't want people to have artificial happiness so she flushed it. When Grampa and Homer were talking about this at Moe's Tavern, Hotenhoffer overheard them. He then took a drop from Grampa's skin and took it back to Hotenhoffer Pharmaceuticals. Hotenhoffer's scientists synthesized the compounds from the drop and tested them on Grampa until they found the correct one. He then created the drug MusBeNys from the compound. Hotenhoffer told Homer, Bart, and Grampa that only Grampa should take the drug for now as it was in the trial phase. However, Bart stole the drugs and sold it to people in Springfield. When the side effects of the drug came out, the Simpsons went to Hotenhoffer Pharmaceuticals to tell Walter about them. Hotenhoffer decided that he had to do something about it, but then a mob of elderly people gathered outside of Hotenhoffer Pharmaceuticals. Hotenhoffer put a gun to his head until his secretary told him that they were a cheerful mob. Hotenhoffer went out to confront the mob and decided that he couldn't exploit them so he would destroy the drug. After Grampa convinced the old people that they didn't need it, Walter told everyone that the lesson they could take from the incident was that if you are a fat little boy in a chocolate factory, never drink from the river... Tom is a man from Springfield who is contracted through the Bigger Brothers Agency. He is a Navy F-14 pilot who owns a motorcycle. After Bart and Homer had a falling out, Bart saw an advert for the Bigger Brothers Agency and went to sign up for it. Bart gave a sob story about how his father had abandoned him six years ago and got assigned Tom as his "Bigger Brother". Tom immediately impressed Bart by picking him up from school on a motorcycle and the two started to bond. Tom took Bart to a baseball game, worked out together, and watched The Ren & Stimpy Show with him. However, Bart started to feel guilty and worried that he was taking Tom away from other kids more deserving of him. When Tom and Bart were out paragliding, Homer spotted them through a pair of binoculars and realized what Bart was doing. In retaliation, Homer also signed up to Bigger Brothers and took on Pepi. Bart told Tom that Homer was a drunken gambler, which led to Tom getting angry at Homer, despite never meeting him. Tom also threatened to hit Homer if he ever met him. When a Bigger Brothers event at Marine World took place, Tom and Bart and Homer and Pepi attended the event. Homer and Bart ran into each other at the aquarium and when Homer told Tom that he was Bart's father, Tom hit Homer. This led to a large fight across town between the two. Eventually, Tom won the fight, injuring Homer over a fire hydrant. Bart and Homer made up, with Bart saying that he never wanted Homer to get hurt. Bart then set Tom and Pepi up together, thinking that they needed each other... Read more of this article | Vote for a comprehensive article |
