Play Information
Genre: Tragedy

Macbeth is a play written by William Shakespeare.

History

Lily visited the Globe Theatre as it was playing Macbeth. Everyone in the theater then cheered and celebrated Lily visiting.[1]

Fiction

In a story told by Marge Simpson, the people of Springfield were performing Macbeth, directed by Chazz Busby. Marge was annoyed because she was washing the clothes of the actors because Homer had the role of a tree. Marge then pressured Homer into killing Sideshow Mel so that Homer could take the lead role of Lord Macbeth. Homer sneaked into Sideshow Mel's room at night and beat him to death with his own bone. Homer was then given the part of Macbeth.

Homer was horrible in his new role, constantly forgetting his lines and even reciting lines from other films. This led to him getting poor reviews in the newspapers. Marge then pressured Homer to kill the cast members who were being praised more than him, so that Homer would eventually be the best actor in the play. Eventually, this led to the whole cast being killed, with only Homer left to act. The ghosts of the cast members confronted Marge, blaming her for their deaths. This gave Marge a heart attack and killed her.

When Homer found Marge's body, he was happy because he no longer had to continue to act in the play. However, Marge's ghost appeared and told Homer that he had to continue acting. Homer went onto stage and gave an amazing performance to an empty theater, which pleased Marge. When Marge suggested that Homer could work through other Shakespeare plays, Homer killed himself too.[2]
