Play Information

Macbeth is a play written by William Shakespeare.

History

Marge was fed up that she had to do all of the actors' laundry because Homer played a tree. She asked Homer to kill the lead actor, Sideshow Mel so he could play Macbeth. Homer did so, and replaced Sideshow Mel. However, Homer's performance did not go well as he kept messing up his lines. The Springfield Shopper's reviews did not portray Homer in a good light, so Marge told Homer to murder the one who was getting the best review, Dr. Hibbert as Banquo. After the killing, Homer still got the worst review, so Marge told him to murder the rest of the cast. He did so, and became the only cast member left. The guilt Marge suffered from telling Homer to murder the cast killed her. Despite this, he performed on stage in front of an empty auditorium very well. Marge, a ghost, congratulated Homer on his performance, and told him he could play the lead characters from several other Shakespeare plays. Homer killed himself because he didn't want to portray those characters.

Cast

  • Homer as Macbeth (previously a Tree)
