Episodes left an unusual point are episodes where they are as usual at the beginning, but at the end something quite major has changed and the change is nearly always not included in future episodes and it is not explained how they changed back.

4 "Mr. Plow" Homer buys a plow truck to replace both of the family's totaled cars. But at the end of the episode it is repossessed leaving it unknown how they got their original cars back.
6 "Fear of Flying" Homer was banned from Moe's Tavern, but it's unknown how he let him back in, in other episodes.
"The PTA Disbands" Springfield Elementary becomes a prison in adding to an educational institution, and it is implied that Bart plans on helping Snake escape. It is never revealed why the school is no longer a prison in future episodes.
7 "Two Bad Neighbors" Gerald Ford moves to Evergreen Terrace. No future episodes show him still living there.
"Bart on the Road" Authorities call the Simpsons to warn that Bart's car has been crushed in Knoxville. It is not known how this is resolved.
"Much Apu About Nothing" Due to Proposition 24, Groundskeeper Willie is deported. It is not revealed how he manages to return to Springfield.
8 "You Only Move Twice" Homer is given the Denver Broncos by Hank Scorpio. It is unknown how and why Homer no longer appears to own the team.
"The Twisted World of Marge Simpson" The Japanese and Italian mafia engage in a fight outside the Flanders house. The results of this conflict are not known.
9 "Bart Star" Bart is carted away in a police car under the intention of arrest due to him pretending to be Nelson. In future episodes, neither Bart nor Nelson is incarcerated; it is not disclosed how the case is dropped.
"Miracle on Evergreen Terrace" At the end, everyone in Springfield takes everything except a washcloth from the Simpsons' house.
"The Joy of Sect" Cletus is seen demanding The Leader's money. However, in future episodes his family remains poor.
"Das Bus" The children are allegedly saved from being trapped on an island by Moe, but how this is accomplished is not clear.
"Lisa the Simpson" Apu and Sanjay turn the Kwik-E-Mart into the Nude-E-Mart. Future episodes revert it to the Kwik-E-Mart with no explanation given.
"Simpson Tide" After Homer is discharged from the Navy, it is left unexplained when or if Mr. Burns rehired him.
"The Trouble with Trillions" The episode ends with Homer, Mr. Burns and Waylon Smithers lost at sea on a raft, after being kicked out of Cuba. Mr. Burns plans on how they will handle their trial (if they ever get back to America).
10 "When You Dish Upon a Star" Homer is banned from being near any celebrity. In future episodes, he is once again seen near celebrities with no charges being pressed.
"Viva Ned Flanders" The episode closes with Ned and Homer alone in the desert with vultures circling over them, leaving it unknown how they survived.
"Wild Barts Can't Be Broken" The episode ends with everyone in Springfield under the age of 70 being placed under curfew and it is never revealed when the curfew was lifted.
"Mom and Pop Art" At the end, Springfield is flooded and it is left unknown how the water was drained.
11 "Brother's Little Helper" Major League Baseball is revealed to be spying on people through satellites. Mark McGwire takes the information the league has stolen and convinces the residents of Springfield not to be interested in its data.
"Missionary: Impossible" The episode is left hanging when Homer and Lisa Jr. are about to fall into the lava and the story is interrupted by Betty White hosting a Fox pledge-a-thon. In the next episode, Homer is back with his family as normal.
"Kill the Alligator and Run" The Simpson family is banned from the state of Florida, but future episodes show them returning to the state without issue.
12 "A Tale of Two Springfields" A group of badgers plans on invading Springfield. It is unknown how they are fended off.
"The Computer Wore Menace Shoes" The episode ends with the Simpsons living at the Island, but in the next episode they are back in Springfield.
"Worst Episode Ever" Comic Book Guy gets arrested for bootlegging illegal videos. The fate of the Android's Dungeon is left unknown. The store next appears in "Children of a Lesser Clod", and Comic Book Guy is back behind the counter. Additionally, Ned Flanders is seen fighting a Radioactive Ape, a conflict that appears to be resolved in all future episodes.
"Simpson Safari" The Simpson family gets copious amounts of diamonds. It is not known what becomes of them.
13 "She of Little Faith" The First Church of Springfield becomes a heavily commercialized business. In future episodes it is brought back to its former business model without explanation.
"The Bart Wants What It Wants" Bart and Milhouse join Canada's basketball team. It is not known what becomes of this development afterwards.
14 "Large Marge" Krusty the Clown heavily censors his show due to protests. In future episodes, it returns to its usual format without explanation.
"Mr. Spritz Goes to Washington" Krusty becomes a congressman, a job that is never acknowledged in future episodes.
16 "All's Fair in Oven War" The kitchen of The Simpsons house was rebuilt, but in the next episode, the kitchen is back to normal.
"Sleeping with the Enemy" Nelson's dad got back, but it is unknown why he is gone after the episode.
"Goo Goo Gai Pan" At end of episode, Bart was replaced by a Chinese spy disguised as him. However, the real Bart returns in the next episode, it is left unknown how the family got him back.
"The Father, the Son and the Holy Guest Star" It is left unknown when or if Bart got back into Springfield Elementary School.
17 "The Girl Who Slept Too Little" The graveyard is moved next to 742 Evergreen Terrace. This somehow seems to have been reversed in later episodes.
"We're on the Road to D'ohwhere" The episode ends with Marge, Homer and Bart all arrested and Lisa hearing their legally-entitled phone calls on the answering machine.
18 "Ice Cream of Margie (with the Light Blue Hair)" It is left unknown whether Homer returns to his regular job after his ice cream truck is totaled.
"Kill Gil, Volumes I & II" Guilted by Gil, the Simpson family moves to new house that Gil sold them. In later episodes they are somehow back at 742 Evergreen Terrace.
19 "Husbands and Knives" Marge opens a new all-female gym, Shapes. It is unknown how she loses possession of the gymnasium in future episodes.
"E. Pluribus Wiggum" Ralph Wiggum campaigns for the position of President of the United States. It is not disclosed how this campaign ends up going.
20 "Lost Verizon" The Simpson family accidentally leaves Maggie in Machu Picchu, where she is worshipped. It is not known how she returns to the family.
"Gone Maggie Gone" Bart is left at a covenant where he is viewed as a gem necessary to their worship. In later episodes, he is returned to the Simpson family without explanation.
21 "Postcards from the Wedge" At the end, Springfield Elementary School sustains major damage due to an earthquake caused by an old abandoned subway train driven by Bart. Later, the people at the school raise the flag, but the pole falls over and collapses the school. but in the next episode, the school is back to normal as if nothing had happened.
23 "The Ten-Per-Cent Solution" Krusty gets a new show on HBOWTIME, and it is not said how/if Krusty got his original show back.
"A Totally Fun Thing Bart Will Never Do Again" The family were marooned on Antarctica for causing a problem on Royalty Valhalla. It is left unknown how the family got back to Springfield.
26 "Peeping Mom" Bart confesses having hijacked the bulldozer and is arrested, but his fate after that is not revealed.
29 "Gone Boy" It is left unknown when or how Bart, Milhouse and Sideshow Bob were taken out from the underground bunker.
30 "The Girl on the Bus" At the end, Bart had redecorated his room for a house party which he worked on secretly while everyone was focused on Lisa. But in the next episode, Bart's room is back to normal. It is left unknown how the Bart's house party ended.
